The Richard (Yogi) Crowe Memorial Scholarship Fund offers contributors the unique opportunity to honor the late Mr. Crowe by supporting students who will be tomorrow's leaders.

The Fund has been established as a perpetual endowment and plans are to continue raising money to meet the increasing costs of higher education. The Fund is incorporated under the laws of North Carolina as a non-profit, tax exempt corporation. All gifts are tax deductible. Accountability statements will be sent annually upon request. As of November 2007, 66 enrolled members have been assisted for a total of $155,799. Many of the students are now working in Cherokee in the schools and service agencies.

MEMORIALS - GIFTS THAT KEEP ON GIVING

Memorials are a way of paying a lasting tribute to special friends and loved ones at their death or honoring them for special occasions such as birthdays, anniversaries or holidays. Material gifts and flowers are appreciated but often forgotten. Memorials or donations to the Yogi Crowe Memorial Scholarship Fund are ways of paying a lasting tribute to your special friends and loved ones. All memorials are placed in the endowment fund and the earnings are used to assist enrolled members of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians working on graduate and post-graduate degrees. It is a gift that keeps on giving.

When there is a death in your family, request that the obituary include that memorials be made to the Richard (Yogi) Crowe Memorial Scholarship Fund, P. O. Box 892, Cherokee, NC 28719. Contributions may also be made to the Yogi Crowe Memorial Scholarship Fund in honor of friends or loved ones for their birthday or Christmas - a unique gift! An acknowledgment of each memorial gift is sent to the family of the person in whose name the gift is made so be sure to include their name and address. No amount is mentioned unless requested. Contributors will also receive an acknowledgment indicating the amount of their gift, which is tax deductible.
